Type II Anodizing

  • Processed at 70F with a typical thickness of 0.1 – 1 mil (0.0001” – 0.001”)

  • An excellent choice for either Clear/Non-Dyed (Class 1) or Dyed (Class 2) parts

  • Clear/Non-Dyed results in a natural/non-cloudy aluminum color for 5XXX series, light-dark grey for 6XXX series, and a grey-gold for 7XXX series

  • Current available dye colors: Black, Flat Dark Earth (FDE), Olive Drab Green (ODG), Gun Metal Grey, Gold, Blue, & Red

Type III Anodizing

  • Commonly referred to as Hardcoat Anodizing

  • Processed at 32F with a typical thickness of 1 2 mil (0.001" 0.002”)

  • Optimal for higher abrasion applications

  • Naturally produces a darker, elegant shade, suitable for darker colored dyes
